mecwacare acquires new aged care facility in Long Gully, Bendigo
Leading Victorian aged care, community and disability services provider mecwacare announces the acquisition of a new aged care facility in Long Gully, Bendigo.
Building on the acquisition of Flora Hill aged care residence earlier in 2024, the new home strengthens mecwacare’s ability to provide quality, personalised care for older residents in the Bendigo region.
“This exciting development represents another step forward in mecwacare’s commitment to providing exceptional residential aged care across regional Victoria,” said mecwacare CEO Anne McCormack.
“Our expansion into Long Gully reflects our dedication to ensuring older Australians have access to compassionate, high-quality care in supportive environments, no matter where they live.”
Conveniently located in a quiet residential area close to Bendigo’s city centre, mecwacare Long Gully is a 52-bed facility featuring thoughtfully designed amenities. The facility is dementia-friendly and equipped to provide general residential care, palliative care and respite services.
Welcoming first residents in early 2025, the home includes a tranquil sensory garden and inviting social spaces for residents and their families to enjoy quality time together. Shops are nearby, while Bendigo RSL, a bowls club, Long Gully Community Centre and Bendigo Hospital are all within easy reach.
