It is only right that there is a special day marked out in the nation’s calendar to recognise, appreciate and offer heartfelt thanks to all our people. Be they personal carers, nurses, kitchen and laundry staff, allied health professionals, administrators, gardeners, volunteers or managers they all work above and beyond the call of duty to keep our older people cared for and safe.
This day is about recognising the almighty effort put in by aged care workers and encouraging the whole community to take a moment and say, ‘thank you for caring, and for the many other things you do that no-one sees, each and every day’. Our staff are the heart of mecwacare, and they make the lives of older people better by just being there, whether its listening to someone’s story, making them comfortable, or safe, or bringing light to their day, it is huge, every single day.
mecwacare staff are the care ‘superheroes.’ We want our residents and clients, their families, and friends to join us in saying ‘thank you for being there, and for the work that you do every day” and recognise the hard work of aged care staff in caring for our loved ones. You all deserve our thanks for your professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm to help older people live comfortably, safely and with respect and dignity.
We also want to encourage our staff to take a moment for themselves to regroup, take a breath, and recharge. Enjoy one of the many celebrations happening across our organisation, be proud of yourselves and your colleagues, and from the bottom of my heart please accept a huge thank you on behalf of the Board and staff of mecwacare.
