mecwacare’s Centre-Based Disability Programs offer choice, diversity and active participation for people with an intellectual disability. Participants may also have a physical disability or a mental health disability. We offer community inclusion for our clients, and recognise the differing interests and abilities of all people. The focus is on the client meeting their goals, supported by mecwacare staff and the client’s support network.
Clients undertake individualised programs and access is available to clients from the southern and eastern metropolitan regions of Melbourne. The programs we offer include skills building, education, vocation support, inclusion support and leisure activities. Clients must have either future for young adults or Individual Support Program allocated to attend from the Department of Health and Human Services.

There is a daily administration fee to attend the program, and there is transport to and from the centre for a fee. The Centre is close to public transport - train, tram and bus for independent travellers.

The Future Options Program has been specifically designed for school leavers that are looking for a transitional program that is educational and community based. We aim to offer choice, diversity and active participation for people with a disability who want to be independent in accessing their community and who want to focus on moving into employment, further education or a day program.
