On 5 March mecwacare held the Annual Charity Golf Day at The National Golf Course, Long Island. This was the second consecutive year that the event was held at the Frankston course, and players were blessed with another sunny day on the green. The team from Ernst & Young were victorious in the 18-hole event after narrowly beating Norden Conversion on a count-back, while last year's champion (mecwacare Life Governor Robin Syme) featured in the winners once again for the putting competition.
Lunch was served after golf, which coincided with an opportunity to speak to donors and sponsors about mecwacare's continued growth in the aged care and disability sector. This was also an opportunity to highlight the fundraising initiatives of the day, with all proceeds going into the care and services for people who are aged and people who are disabled in the Victorian community.
mecwacare would like to thank silver sponsors Sheen and CHT Architects, and bronze sponsors Moores, Accru Melbourne, Medirest, Norden Conversion, Medsafe, United Physiotherapy Group, Amicum and SalaryPackagingPLUS (who also arranged the Suzuki Swift for the hole-in-one prize) for their ongoing support.
